Haven’t done a nude in quite some time, probably 5 years at least.  When I was back in Arizona, no big deal, models were readily available.   Here in countryside Japan, good luck!  Not that I really was every in to drawing or painting nudes per se, but once in awhile it’s nice to keep one’s skills up to par, or at least to develop them further.  Actually, my life drawing skills are quite rusty - I really “need” to do more of this.

Anyway, was having a few drinks in a local watering hole a few weeks ago and this gal asked me to draw her portrait, which I did real quick.  Although a little on the crazy side, she is a rather kind person and was a perfect model.  I asked her to model for me at my studio, she agreed.  For the first session, I drew her clothed, a portrait in charcoal.  She came back a week later and this time I drew her nude, based on a Degas sketch I saw in a book.  Well, it’s not the greatest sketch, it turned out only “fair” at best, but it made me want to do more.  She’s supposed to head back to Tokyo soon so perhaps I can get one more session in.
