Capturing the Essence of Urban and Rural Life Through Street Photography

Two young Filipinos on cobblestone, selling Sampaguita flowers in a poignant black and white portrait.

I’m a Japan based photographer. Although I’m reluctant to label myself as such, street photography probably best fits my work. Street photography is complex and broad, capturing candid moments of life and human behavior in various public spaces. Whether in dynamic urban scenes or tranquil rural settings, it highlights the diversity of environments and the relationship between people and nature, portraying the spontaneity and essence of unique, ephemeral moments.

Japan Based Photographer Focused on Global Street Photography

Although I originate from Arizona, renowned for its picturesque rural landscapes, my photographic pursuits over the last few years are primarily focused on street photography in Asia, where I currently reside, particularly in Japan, Vietnam, and the Philippines. In terms of equipment, I utilize both film and digital cameras about equally, selecting the most appropriate tool for each specific scenario and desired ambiance. As far as film based photographs are concerned, I personally develop all film photographs in my darkroom located in Japan.

Feel free to peruse my photographs and if anything strikes a chord in you, feel free to contact me any time, let me prepare a personal print to be shipped to you.
